Hope by Sri Chinmoy

Hope
Know no fear.

Hope dares to blossom
Even inside the abysmal abyss.

Hope secretly feeds
And strengthens
Promise.

Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer

Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want

That's why we're waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

Hope for the World

Never a time
I fall apart
I must be strong
Cause the winners win
The losers lose
Choose your sides
It's your move
And I am the one you should fear the most
Cause I am the one who will bring you down
And as long as I exist there's hope for the world

Hope You Never by Tom Petty

I hope you never fall in love
Hope you never get your heart broken
I hope you never fall in love
With somebody like you

I, too, sing America. By Langston Hughes

I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.
Tomorrow,
I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
Then.
Besides,
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed--
I, too, am America.
This poem represents a black mans hope for freedom and respect in America. He is preaching that he is human too and should get the same respect as a white man.

Hope Abides By - Sri Chinmoy

Hope abides; therefore I abide.
Countless frustrations have not cowed me.
I am still alive, vibrant with life.
The black cloud will disappear,
The morning sun will appear once again
In all its supernal glory.

This poem speaks about hope and abiding by hope. This person says if you live your life around hope, life will give back to you.

Hope by Gerry Beckley

You gotta hope it’ll be alright
Come on and hope it’ll turn out fine
Yeah, hope it’ll be alright, please

When the night turns to the deepest shade of black
At that point there is no reason to turn back
High above angels are falling from the sky

Lift your heart knowing
It’s gonna be alright
It’s gonna turn out fine

This song represents hope very obviously. It is telling you that everything is going to be okay and you just need to have hope and everything is going to turn out fine.

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou

The caged bird sings
with fearful trill
of the things unknown
but longed for still
and is tune is heard
on the distant hillfor the caged bird
sings of freedom

Maya Angelou is preaching about the hopes of slaves getting freedom. She is saying that the slaves don't know what lies ahead but they are hopeful that it is something good.

"Hope" is the thing with feathers by Emily Dickinson

"Hope" is the thing with feathers --
That perches in the soul --
And sings the tune without the words --
And never stops -- at all --

This excerpt of the poem represents hope. It is giving hope humanistic qualities by saying it has feathers and sings. It is also saying that hope never gives up or stops.
