narrative 3

I think I am finally in touch with my life. A touch of pride with a lot of hope. I've had friends shipped away to Iraq and Afghanistan and so far, thank god, they are all still alive and well. I don't pretend to understand everything that is going on, nor the reasons behind it all and regardless of which party is in power or who the president happens to be at any given time. I still have faith in our country and a lot of hope for the future.

Hope by Sri Chinmoy

Know no fear.

Hope dares to blossom
Even inside the abysmal abyss.

Hope secretly feeds
And strengthens

Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer

Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want

That's why we're waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

Hope for the World

Never a time
I fall apart
I must be strong
Cause the winners win
The losers lose
Choose your sides
It's your move
And I am the one you should fear the most
Cause I am the one who will bring you down
And as long as I exist there's hope for the world

Hope You Never by Tom Petty

I hope you never fall in love
Hope you never get your heart broken
I hope you never fall in love
With somebody like you

I, too, sing America. By Langston Hughes

I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.
I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed--
I, too, am America.
This poem represents a black mans hope for freedom and respect in America. He is preaching that he is human too and should get the same respect as a white man.

Hope Abides By - Sri Chinmoy

Hope abides; therefore I abide.
Countless frustrations have not cowed me.
I am still alive, vibrant with life.
The black cloud will disappear,
The morning sun will appear once again
In all its supernal glory.

This poem speaks about hope and abiding by hope. This person says if you live your life around hope, life will give back to you.
